At ENGAGE, spiritual growth is the lens through which we view every aspect of our ministry. Inspired by Jesus, our vision is to impact our city and the world, and our mission is to live by faith, labor in love and, when times get tough, endure through hope in Jesus (1 Thess. 1:3).

Lives Marked By Discipleship

Living this out requires a life marked by discipleship, where we are seeking to follow Jesus and helping others to do the same. We focus on four key discipleship habits to help kids and adults grow closer to God: Spending Time With God, Spending Time With Others, Using Our Gifts and Sharing Our Stories.

Each quarter of our sermon calendar, which is also guided by the Revised Common Lectionary, emphasizes one of these discipleship habits. This rhythm ensures we’re consistently nurturing these practices in our community. On months with a 5th Sunday, we host special events that focus on the discipleship emphasis for that quarter, offering unique opportunities to learn, grow and engage together.

How We Live It Out

Through these four habits, we align our hearts and actions with God’s purpose for our lives. Whether you're just beginning your journey or seeking to grow deeper, we invite you to join us in this transformative discipleship process. Through it, our prayer is that together, we’ll learn to live by faith, labor in love, and endure through hope – growing closer to God and impacting the world for his glory.

Let’s grow together!

1. Spend Time With God

We grow spiritually by nurturing our relationship with God. This habit encourages personal spiritual disciplines like prayer, reading Scripture, reflection and worship. Our goal is to help individuals and families discover the ways they best connect with God and create space to encounter him regularly. When we spend time with God, our faith deepens.

    • Worship opportunities at church and home
    • Resources for families to explore faith together

2. Spend Time With Others

God designed us for community. Healthy, godly relationships – both within the church and beyond – are vital for spiritual growth. We foster environments where individuals can connect with others, share life and grow together in faith.

    • Small groups and mentoring relationships
    • Opportunities for families to engage with their communities
    • Programs to encourage connections across generations

3. Use Your Gifts

We believe everyone is uniquely designed by God to make an impact. Discipleship involves helping people discover their gifts and use them to serve God, love others and make a difference in the world. As we step into our God-given purposes, our faith grows.

  • What This Looks Like:
    • Classes and workshops to help identify spiritual gifts
    • Volunteer opportunities in church ministries and beyond
    • Support for individuals as they pursue their callings

4. Share Your Story

Our stories are powerful tools for spreading God’s love. We aim to help people connect their lives with God’s story and share their faith naturally in daily conversations. Sharing our stories deepens our understanding of God’s work and inspires others.

  • What This Looks Like:
    • Storytelling training
    • Encouragement to integrate faith into everyday conversations
    • Celebrating stories of faith in worship and community events
