Prayer Gatherings for Immigrants & Refugees"God Sees, God Hears, God Helps" - Sunday, March 23, 2025 As immigration dominates national headlines and many immigrants and refugees face increasing fear and uncertainty, we are coming together during the same weekend as other Covenant churches around the country to hold prayer gatherings on March 23 at 4 p.m. These times of prayer will take place during our regularly scheduled Engage Groups. Through guided prayer, we will stand in solidarity with immigrant and refugee communities. The prayer, themed “God Sees, God Hears, God Helps,” will be a time of lament, prayer, and a call to action, centering solidarity with the experiences of immigrants and refugees. Participants will lift prayers for those who are suffering, for leaders to pursue just and compassionate solutions, and for communities of Christian faith to respond with mercy and courage. Dinner will follow the time of prayer. To find an Engage Group location near you, email engagechurchmovement@gmail.com. |

Sabbath Sunday - March 30
This quarter's discipleship emphasis is Spending Time With God. So, on our Sabbath Sunday, March 30, we're hitting pause, encouraging you to gather up a small group of people including family and/or friends, and providing an opportunity to spend time with God through our Full Bloom Grow with God Experience. The Easter season is the perfect time for us to pause and take a moment to reflect on what Jesus has done and how it impacts our lives. No matter where we are on our spiritual journeys, this activity is designed to help us discover something new about God. Throughout your "garden," in The Grow with God Experience, you can experience how meaningful and helpful it can be to spend time with God. We'll walk through the Easter story and practice a few spiritual habits along the way to help encourage our growth. The Full Bloom Grow with God Experience guide will be emailed by March 21. |

Quarterly Flourishing Reminder
Inspired by 1 Thess. 1:3, we long to see all people living by faith, laboring in love and enduring through hope in Jesus. This is more than surviving – it’s thriving and flourishing. We’ve used Barna Research Group’s five areas of flourishing to organize resources that we believe will help you flourish and, in turn, live inspired by Jesus, impacting your city and the world. You can find those resources compiled here. Once a quarter, we encourage Engagers to take an online self-assessment to help you determine what areas of flourishing you should focus on first. Ordinary People, Extraordinary Courage
The Evangelical Covenant Church (ECC), the denomination Engage is a part of, has long championed justice, community, and faithfulness to the gospel. This legacy is deeply embedded in its spiritual DNA, which has historically resisted forces of hate and exclusion. One such moment in history is the courageous stand of Rev. A.H. Jacobson, a Covenant pastor who faithfully served in the ECC throughout his career. At great personal risk, Jacobson exposed and resisted the Ku Klux Klan’s attempts to infiltrate Mead, Nebraska, in the 1920s, ultimately contributing to their decline in the region. His story is more than a historical anecdote; it provides a framework for understanding the Covenant’s commitment to justice, its evolving multiethnic identity, and the impact we each can have when we raise our voices on behalf of the oppressed.
