Engage KC Worship

Sunday, April 6, 2025

Join us for worship on April 6, 10 a.m. at 20 E Gregory or online at engagesouthkc.com. Rachel will bring the message with our BIG IDEA God sent Jesus to save us.

Current Sermon Series:

Full Bloom (Easter): Spring is the season for new beginnings! Whether you're cleaning out parts of your home or watching the flowers bloom in your garden, it's a time for new life and growth. Like a good gardener, Jesus wanted to help cultivate the seeds of faith in his friends so they could all grow closer to God. In this series, we will learn all about the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus as he sowed the seeds of new life in the world.

This weekend trip brings together young people and families for worship, workshops and a whole lot of fun at one of America’s top theme parks.

College of Arts Spring Art Show

College of Arts Spring Art Show

Reservations REQUIRED by April 12: engagechurchmovement@gmail.com

We’ve had another fun, creative semester of Fine Arts at the Johnson County Department of Corrections Adult Residential Center (ARC)! Under Rachel Larson’s leadership, students have explored new artistic skills and expressed their creativity in meaningful ways.

What better way to celebrate Holy Week than by witnessing the power of transformation and redemption through art? Just as Holy Week reminds us of renewal and restoration, this show highlights the beauty of new beginnings and personal growth in our students' lives. Come and be encouraged by their work!

Listening, Learning, and Living in Prayer

Listening, Learning, and Living in Prayer

Mondays, May 5, 12 & 19 | 7-8 PM (Zoom registration here)

Prayer is more than words — it’s a conversation with God that shapes us and the world around us. Join us for three Monday nights of exploring scripture, learning practical ways to pray, and spending time in prayer together. Whether you’re new to prayer or looking to deepen your practice, this is a space to listen, learn, and grow.

Weekly Themes:

May 5 – The Heart of Prayer
What is prayer, and why does it matter? We’ll explore foundational scriptures and practice simple ways to connect with God in prayer.

May 12 – Pursuing God in Prayer
Prayer is an ongoing pursuit. We’ll look at biblical principles of prayer and practice persistence, intercession, and praying with expectation.

May 19 – The Power of Prayer
Prayer can transform lives, communities, and even nations. We’ll study powerful biblical prayers and practice praying boldly for our world today.

Finding Our Place In The Movement

Finding Our Place In The Movement

As a new church plant forms in Manhattan, Kansas – Manhattan Covenant Church – Pastor Lexi has had the privilege of working alongside the planters Sam Creager and Amanda Brahn in her role as Director of Church Planting for the Midwest Conference and Engager Claire McClun is serving as their church planting coach. Here's a little about MCC:

Since connecting through the Covenant in early 2024, we (Sam, Amanda and our families) have teamed up to launch a new church in Manhattan, Kansas! We both saw a need for a church that embodies the values of the ECC and felt called to be the ones to plant it. We’ve spent the past year building relationships, discerning our vision and mission, and shaping our church’s core values. As we move forward, we are forming a committed Launch Team and preparing for preview services in summer 2025. Join us in prayer and partnership at mhkcovenant.org!

We'd love to be able to bless MCC as a partner church. We've set up a fund dedicated to MCC. You can find in through our giving site by selecting Manhattan KS Church Plant. The Langs have committed $25 per month. Would you join us in a monthly or one-time gift of any amount to help launch this new plant? We'll have opportunities to hear from Sam and Amanda soon and we'll keep you posted on the church's progress. If you know anyone who lives in or near Manhattan, please help us spread the word about MCC.

We'd also invite you to be praying for Sam and Amanda and other planters. Starting new churches requires deep dependence on the Holy Spirit. As Paul wrote, "I planted the seed, Apollos watered it, but God has been making it grow" (1 Corinthians 3:6). As you pray, ask God to:

  • Protect and provide for pastors and their families.
  • Give them eyes to see where God is already at work.
  • Surround them with healthy, encouraging, and life-giving teams.
